Could you please send me the recipe for the 3 Ingredient Fruit cake.

The 3 ingredient fruit cake recipe and its variations can be found in the 2nd edition of 4 Ingredients. Titled ‘Versatile Fruit Cake’ the recipes can be found on page 63. We also have another version ‘Delicious Fruit Cake’ in our first edition which can be found on page 55.

Does your book cater for Vegetarians, Dairy Free, Egg Free, or Weight management ?

There are certainly recipes within the book that fulfil all of the above criteria, however I cannot give you an accurate assessment of the percentage. Perhaps you could visit a bookstore, Big W, Target, Myer or Coles who stock the book and have a look and see if it will fulfil your particular requirements.

Kim and Rachael have had so many requests along these lines that they are planning to bring out dietary specific editions the first of which will be our 4 Ingredients Gluten Free.

How many teaspoons are in a sachet of Gelatine?

3 teaspoons of gelatine are equivalent to one sachet.

I can’t find Bumbu Pecal in any of our local supermarkets

You can usually find Bumbu Pecal at Asian Grocery stores, the major supermarkets don’t seem to stock it any more.  If you are unable to get to an Asian supermarket, the Maggi Satay Sauce mix is a great substitute

The recipe for Pear cake on page 58, says to reserve liquid then to add pears and liquid. Do I use the liquid or not ?

The liquid in this recipe doesn’t need to be reserved, but added to the cake mixture as per the remainder of the method.

The recipe for Pineapple Flummery on Page 169 of book 2 doesn’t tell you what to do with the reserved pineapple ?

Use the reserved pineapple to garnish the finished flummery.

What are tumble dryer sheets?

Tumble dryer sheets are generally found near the fabric softener section of your supermarket. They are similar to baby wipes, and are used in a tumble dryer to give a freshness to your clothes.


U have one hell of a book there and I just cant wait for my mum to get one sent to her in UK for her to bring out with her to Zim when she visits in Jan - well done to u guys for being so wonderfully ..
